Last spring we asked the question, “What is patriotism?” We asked our very diverse group of singers for their thoughts on this topic and one thing we know for sure is that for us patriotism is something much more than blind allegiance and demands a commitment to the principles and ideals upon which this nation was founded. Nolan and Scott prepared an inspiring program that plumbed the depths of this idea with music from the Revolutionary War, music that celebrated Frederick Douglass, music from the great African-American Requiem of Damien Geter, and several other important works. We held a community talk back and a reception after the concert. For a small taste of what took place that day, hit the button below to watch a clip.
